Baked Chicken Parmesan

A quick and easy-baked chicken parmesan recipe made with only 5 ingredients. Full of protein-packed healthy ingredients like low-fat cheese, chicken breast, and no-sugar-added marinara sauce - this is the best chicken parm you’ll ever make. It is an excellent recipe for a weeknight dinner that your whole family will enjoy.

                                                                          

Ingredients

  1. Medium Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
  2. 1/2 box Garlic Parmesan Seasoning and Coating Mix
  3. 1/2 cup No Sugar Added Marinara Sauce
  4. 1/2 cup Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese
  5. as needed Olive Oil Cooking Spray
  6. to taste Thinly Sliced Fresh Basil                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Line a large baking tray with parchment paper.

Step 2

Slice the Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts (4) half lengthwise so you have two thin pieces, and pound flat under plastic wrap using a meat tenderizer or rolling pin.

Step 3

Pour the Garlic Parmesan Seasoning and Coating Mix (1/2 box) into a gallon plastic bag (or the bag that comes with the seasoning). Add pieces 1 at a time, shaking until fully coated, then place them on the baking sheet.

Step 4

Once finished, spray with Olive Oil Cooking Spray (as needed). Bake for 15 minutes or until the chicken is beginning to turn golden brown and crispy.

Step 5

Remove from the oven and turn on the broiler. Top each piece with 1 Tbsp of No Sugar Added Marinara Sauce (1/2 cup) and a sprinkle of Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese (1/2 cup).

Step 6

Return to the oven and bake for 3-5 more minutes under the broiler or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.

Step 7

Garnish baked chicken parmesan with Fresh Basil (to taste) if desired. Serve warm with sides of choice.
